Notice:
SRO contains files larger than the normal baseline for STEP

Please be aware that SRO contains files that are typically 2-4K in resolution. The typical baseline for STEP is 1-2K (or the vanilla/HRDLC sizes), therefore, SRO is often double the baseline in most cases. Users who experience slowdowns after installing SRO, may wish to consider reducing the texture sizes using DDSopt.

Download and install:

  4. SRO 1.7. original Skyrim version update
  5. Overwrite any files, if extracting and combining before installation.
  6. If installing the individual files directly to MO either:
    • Install the files separately and in the order listed above or,
    • Install to a single 'mod' using the Merge option.

Modder ‘Starac/Ancient’ has released a new version of his graphics/texture overhaul mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. This new version adds some new 2K/4K textures, though the modder did not specify which are the new textures that have been added.

In case you weren’t aware of, Skyrim Realistic Overhaul contains 10gb of high quality 2048k/4096k textures and there are more than 1500 textures that have been improved. This Texture Pack aims to drastically increase quality while keeping the artistic look of original textures and while this version is for Special Edition of Skyrim, it can also be used with the original version of Skyrim.

Those interested can download the Skyrim Realistic Overhaul Texture Pack from here. You’ll have to download and install first the three parts of this pack, and then apply Update 1.8.
